Wow, talk about a fancy shoe for your special day!
Based on my searches, these gold filigree heels appear to be part of the Dolce & Gabanna Fall 2013 Runway show. While I cannot seem to find them available for purchase (I assume they were specially made for the runway?), I think a similar style would be stunning for any bride!
I automatically jump to thinking about how I could re-create this look. I know that craft stores sell wire pendants and charms that have the thin, filigree style. Maybe it is possible to glue those on to the heel for a DIY version of this look? While many of us may not be seamstresses able to make our own wedding dress, it would be an amazing feeling to say you create your own shoes!
If you are interested in something a bit simpler, here is a tutorial for a glitter heel version of a gold heel:
This is a great idea for those of you looking for something different, or an opportunity to match your shoes for your bridesmaids or flower girls!
Lighting at your wedding does not have to be limited to strings of white lights, overhead lanterns or small arrangements of candles.
Nor does it have to be over-the-top expensive, like fancy chandeliers.
How about picking up some nice thrift store lamps (or, if you are lucky you can find some free ones from family, friends or even Craigslist!), give them a fresh coat of paint, and add a touch of lace to the lamp shade? Or better yet, try this technique shown below. Remove the existing shade fabric to expose only the wire frame an cover with lace doilies!
It is the small, creative touches that will keep your guests talking about your special day! You will be sure to get many compliments on these lamps, whether you use them as centerpieces, in the bar area or on your cake or gift tables! You could even use a tall floor lamp as part of the decor in a fun, vintage-style photo booth!

It is my personal opinion that a fall wedding is one of the easiest ways to get away with a gorgeous day on a budget.
Fall is all about color.
A location with orange leaves, or even trees with NO leaves is dramatic. Add some lights, toss some fresh or silk leaves down the aisle and you have a perfect venue! Centerpieces don’t have to be expensive – some pumpkins, carved or not, make for great arrangements on the cheap, as do tall vases or branches or leaves. You can truly get away with the most minimal or decor and have a stunning event!
While the photos shown below may SEEM extravagant, look closer and see how simple some of these ideas truly are. They say less is more, and it is true – very little detail can really make a difference in the fall! Here are my favorite ideas:
Never, ever underestimate the power of some pumpkins and leaves!
What is your opinion? Do you agree that a fall wedding can make for an easy way to plan your big day on a budget?
If you are a Gwen Stefani fan, you will remember her pink ombre wedding look that was so her! It was a bold, colorful look.
The style is still going strong and I believe that if you are looking for a gown that is fun and different, something that shows your bold personality, it is worth considering an ombre gown for your special day!
If you love the ombre look, but are looking for something a bit less bold, there are plenty of options available to you. One of my favorites is a simple dress by Sue Wong, which I found on Saks.
Also check out a site called CapitolRomance.com, where they show a stunning purple ombre gown that the bride designed herself with a seamstress! The dress is beautiful and great inspiration if you are looking to make your own dress or have one designed for you.
Lace invites, whether they be for the bridal shower, engagement party or the wedding itself are a stunning and elegant way to go.
Keep in mind that you do want to keep your big day all tied together, so if you choose a lace option for the engagement party, you best do something similar for the wedding. This way, your guests have a running idea of how laid back or formal your day will be.
I just love anything with lace. It can be added to bouquets, hairpieces, table settings and even the cake. But there is something about opening a really lacy wedding invitation that just strikes a romantic chord inside me. I get all giddy with excitement for the couple-to-be! If you or someone you know is looking to tie the knot soon and is in need of some lace invitation ideas, here are a few of my favorites:
These stunning invites are from a UK site, but don’t worry – it looks like they ship internationally! In my opinion, the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable.
This Etsy shop offers a large selection of vintage style invitations. I especially love the coral lace style shown above, but you will want to check out all the beautiful options that are offered! If you have followed my blog for a while, you know I am a sucker to anything country vintage style. These invites would match my favorite coral country style bridesmaid dress that I showed in this post.
This tutorial shows how to make these cute lace doily envelopes. I have seen doily envelopes before, but the way the top folds over in this one is so pretty! Be sure to visit the tutorial site to learn how to make these. I could also see these being used for a baby shower!

Rose petals aren’t what they used to be.
You remember, the flower girls would sprinkle one here or there. Maybe you would have a splash of them already on the ground before she did her thing. But nowadays, WOW. There are some really amazing ideas to consider for your perfect entrance! Things like color, design, monogram are all decisions you will have to make if you choose to have an extravagant and flowery “runway”.
Below are several options to consider. If you find something you love prior to making decisions about the rest of your wedding flowers, it is a great idea to save the image to bring to your florist. The florist may be able to learn what style you like and help you choose bouquets and arrangements that fit your taste by seeing your aisle preferences!
I wonder how long this design took to make?! Stunning, isn’t it?
Ombre style, or a gradient made of petals, is one of my favorite looks!
You don’t have to go swirly or to make an amazing entrance. This criss-cross look is exquisite.
I love the addition of pink to this look. If I were the bride, I would really hate to walk on these and mess it all up! This wedding is truly amazing, be sure to check out the source link for more images from this big event. Just breathtaking!
I love when brides wear pearls.
Personally, I think diamonds are kind of over rated for jewelry and the only diamond that should be getting attention on your big day is the most important one of all! So flash that newly jeweled finger all about and keep the rest of your jewelry on the whiter, pearly side!
Here are a few options that I love – pearl bracelets!
What do you think about diamonds on your wedding day? Too flashy? Can’t get enough of them? I would love to hear your opinion and see some of your favorite styles!
I believe the key to a fun wedding is to add a whole bunch of humor to your special day.
By keeping your guests constantly laughing or waiting for the next “punch line ” is going to keep your friends and family talking about your big day for years to come. So how do you keep the entertainment flowing? For one, keep the alcohol flowing – a little bit of liquor is sure to make your guests think you are funnier than you truly are!
Next, you will want to break your event into segments – ceremony, reception introductions, first dance, cake cutting, garter and flower toss, etc. Consider other weddings you have been to and remember at one point each of these segments really started to bore you (Of course, I am not trying to be rude, this is about making your event Awesome!) and figure out something that fits into your style to keep things from getting boring during those times?
For me, there always seems to be a huge gap of lingering between dinner speeches and the cake cutting. So why not ask the DJ to announce that the photographer will be taking funny pictures on the dance floor during that time and supply your guests with hats, mustaches, etc? Your guests will Love to join in! Plus, making people get up and hit the dance floor for these pictures encourages dancing which will keep the mood lighter for those who might not have joined in otherwise!
Other ideas as shown in images above include sunglasses for the wedding party (I have also seen engraved glasses for each guest to use in group photos), making a funny wedding program to keep your guests entertained during the ceremony and a tutorial to build your own photo booth!
